Pope St. Pius X took the motto, “To restore all things in Christ” and introduced a universal catechism, revised the Code of Canon Law, encouraged Gregorian Chant and emphasized the teachings of St. Thomas Aquinas.  Most notably, he lowered the age for children to receive their First Holy Communion from twelve to seven, and encourage the frequent reception of the Eucharist among all the faithful.
