The Feast Day of Saint Peter the Apostle (which he shares with St. Paul the Apostle) is one of the most solemn in the Church calendar. It is one of 10 feasts that may be holy days of obligation in the Western Church. Our holy card shows Christ bestowing on St. Peter the keys of the kingdom. The Latin inscription translates as: You are Peter and upon this rock I will build My Church, and the powers of the lower world shall not prevail against it. And to you I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven.  The back of the holy card has the entire passage, in English, of course.
